Week in Review
An update on Jack…
Jack is excelling in his classes! (I may be biased because I’m his wife, but really, it’s true.) His mid-terms were this past week, and it has only confirmed that this is how his brain is wired. He loves it! And I love watching him get so excited to do his homework! As I write this post, he’s working on Vietnamese Nonverbal Predicates… you know, the usual.
An update on the kids…
We’ve started French lessons with the kids! Up to this point, I’ve been trying to find children’s books and music in French to have around the house. But today, my friend Ruth started our weekly French lessons with her littlest kids and mine. Ruth is also a Wycliffe missionary who is assigned to Francophone Africa. She and her family have worked directly with translation teams in Central African Republic and Cameroon for the past decade. She and her husband (who is one of Jack’s professors this semester) have been such a HUGE encouragement and resource for our family!
So today, the kids learned French greetings, colors, numbers, and fruits… all while laughing and snacking. It was adorable. (And, super helpful for my French language learning too!!)
An update on me…
This week, I reached a goal that I've spent over 130 miles training for during the past 12 weeks. Jack and I ran a trail half marathon this past weekend! It was called the Run4Bibles and was put on by a Christian organization here in Dallas. The proceeds from our race registration will send Bibles to war-torn areas of Africa in DRC and Rwanda. Our medals were hand-carved by men in the Democratic Republic of Congo. We were thrilled to be a part of it! We even got to write our name on labels to be put inside Bibles before they are distributed. They say: This Bible was sent by Lindsay Campbell, who is praying for you. Each of our half marathon registrations sent three Bibles. What joy!!
It's been a good week!
Thank you all so much for praying for us!
We are thankful to be on this journey with you!
