The Finish Line
Each year, Wycliffe publishes updated information on Bible translation projects that are nearing completion. It's exciting to see projects that are almost done and people that are so close to having a completed New Testament in their language.
But it is during these last few steps of the process that we see the level of spiritual warfare and challenges increase greatly. And it makes sense! A new group of people is about to have easy access to God's Word in their own language, increasing discipleship and evangelism opportunities greatly. The enemy wants to put a stop to this.
And the best weapon we have, especially from a distance, is that we can pray fervently for these projects and the people that are involved in the translation. What a great privilege to be able to approach the God of heaven directly to intercede for believers all over the world!
So, how can we pray?
The Wycliffe website has a page dedicated to how we can pray for the finish line of projects that are within 3 years of completion. Take a look and explore the information provided about these projects.
On that page, you can find a 31-day prayer guide for specific languages and even a guide to all the languages, divided by region. Here's the one for Africa. It's especially fun for us to read about the projects in Côte d'Ivoire that are almost completed!
As we start off the new year, I would like to invite you to pray with us for each country in that 31-day prayer guide. You can download the guide yourself, and we'll post on our Facebook/Instagram each day about a language group to pray for. Spoiler alert: On day 10, we get to pray for the Palaka language group in Côte d'Ivoire!
I'm looking forward to doing this with you! Let's pray fervently together for people across the globe that are so close to having the New Testament in their language.
