So many people ask us what the plan is now, so I thought we'd give everybody a little overview of where we're at and the plan for the next step.
As most of you know, we were unable to get a visa for our move to France by January 4, when our language classes started. The specific issue was that they were not giving visas to children at that time.
This means that the next start date available to us is May 3! So, we remain in the States a little longer as we plan and prepare for the move. Our plan is to move with a couple of weeks to spare to allow us to settle in and get the kids all registered for school and those sorts of things. The nice thing is that our housing in France has been available since September, so we can really go whenever the visas are being issued again. Everything is already in place with Wycliffe and with the school in France, so it feels like we're sitting anxiously behind the starting gate, just waiting for the green flag to drop!
One theme that has been constant throughout our journey with Wycliffe has been how God has shown His provision to us in so many ways. I feel like I could sit down with you for hours and talk about all the ways that God provided for us over the last two years! (Well, more than that, but it has been a little more apparent to us recently.) And that only continues!
Because of this delay, we were required to adjust our budget to account for, primarily, an increase in cost-of-living and insurance premiums. These are standard adjustments that happen every year, but once we hit 100%, we had the green light to go without an increase in budget. Now that our schedule is pushed back a little, we would not be considered at full budget until we met the increased budget numbers. But God provided before we even knew we needed it! By the time that adjustment was made, we were already over 100% of our new budget!
We are so ready to go and things keep falling into place. Now, to get a visa!
As always, we covet your prayers and know that we rest on the support of all those that are praying faithfully for us! We are humbled each time that we hear of someone remembering to pray for us or asking how they can be praying.
Our main prayer request at this point is simply for wisdom. There are a lot of decisions that have to be made, from what to take with us to France, to where we will end up in Africa! We know that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and that we need only ask for wisdom from the all-wise God that we serve. So we ask you to pray for us, that we would seek the Lord whole-heartedly and trust Him for wisdom in the coming decisions.
We are so thankful for each of you. Please let us know how we can be praying for you too! We are partners in this journey and desire to lift you up in prayer as well.
