Throughout the process of joining Wycliffe and starting our journey into missionary life, we have seen over and over the power of prayer! It's unreal. Literally, out of this world. Let me share with you some of the ways we've seen God work.
We prayed for a long time about joining Wycliffe, and God affirmed that decision through our friends and church, and truly gave us a passion for the work that He was calling us to.
We prayed that God would help us sell our home and it sold in 2 weeks, providing us some money to get started as we began developing a team of partners for our Wycliffe ministry.
We prayed for housing as we went to training and churches and to school in Dallas, and He provided a camper that has been just a perfect fit for our family.
We prayed for people that would get excited with us and partner with our Wycliffe ministry, and we have been overwhelmed with our friends and family that are so supportive and generous and genuinely thrilled for us.
We've watched friends pray for plane tickets or financial partners or open countries, and God continues to come through over and over again.
We've prayed for health and protection through the virus and quarantine and we've been healthy and able to continue school throughout the whole process.
We've prayed that God would draw our children to Himself. Just last week, we were able to talk to Titus about what faith in Christ looks like and he has put his faith in our Savior!
We've prayed that God would provide for financial needs as they come up, and He has used His people in incredible ways. We had to put money down for French school earlier than we expected, but God provided the funds. We were even able to pay in advance for the next semester of classes.
And we want to find ways to remind ourselves regularly about God's generosity and the power of prayer. This list is only the tip of the iceberg, not to mention that God is constantly working in ways that we don't even see or know to pray for.
So, I want to regularly ask for your prayer. It's not because there's one big thing or something extra serious, but because we know that without prayer, the task in front of us is impossible.
So please pray for us:
Pray for us as we try to finalize summer plans. We are intending to travel again and visit with churches, speak at Lake Ann Camp, and connect with current and potential partners. Pray that the churches would have wisdom as they work to open their services back up. Pray for Lake Ann that is still unsure of summer camp.
Pray for my last week of school. Classes end this week and finals are next week, so I'm preparing for that. Pray that I can finish this semester strong.
Pray that we continue to seek after God for our rest and comfort. He is the only one that satisfies, and He is able to provide all that we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3)
Pray that we are intentional as we raise our kids. We pray often for their hearts, that God will instill a passion for the Bible to go to the ends of the earth.
Brothers, pray for us. -1 Thess. 5:25
We love you all and pray for you often.
