Passing Out Swords

"I'm so glad we have the Bible in our language. I bet people who don't have the Bible in their language believe Satan's lies way more."

Sweet seven-year-old Lucy spoke those words this week.

Our kids went through a season of bad dreams. Really scary dreams. They woke up multiple times a night for multiple nights in a row. It was eerie.

We are convinced that spiritual warfare has been going on in the minds of our children at night. It has brought us to our knees and has allowed for life-giving conversations to happen with our kids.

We are also convinced that we have entered a battle that has already been won - Praise God!

As a family, we've been memorizing Ephesians 6 and learning about the Armor of God that He has graciously provided for us.

We wear faith as a shield, protecting us from the fiery lies.

We wear our salvation through Christ as a helmet, protecting our mind.

We wield our weapon, the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

We talk often about how to recognize a lie when it enters our mind. If the only way to recognize a lie is to know Truth, we must know Truth.

This is when Lucy realized that people who don't have Scripture in their language don't have the Truth that they desperately need to wage war with the enemy.

It's hard for me to even imagine not knowing God's words, His promises, or His character. It seems so simple to translate the Bible... but truly, Bible translation is putting the Sword of the Spirit into the hands, hearts, and minds of people all around the world.

What an honor!

Family Update

We are currently in Illinois and loving our time with Grandma, Grandpa, and Calvary Baptist Church! Jack has been able to present to the church and we have many meetings with small groups and individual families. We LOVE talking about Bible translation!!

God has been amazingly faithful in specifically providing friends for our kids. The families at Calvary have welcomed us with love and friendship in so many ways, and we are all feeling so loved, included, and encouraged.

Please pray for us!

- Pray that our meetings with small groups and families in Illinois would glorify God and clearly express the need for Bible translation.

- Pray that people would jump on the team and become partners with us in our Wycliffe ministry!

- Pray that we would be constantly relying on God and not our own strength.

- Pray, as always, for wisdom as we parent these three little souls!
